Salesforce Tableau is one of the market’s most comprehensive data analytics platforms. Enhanced by Einstein AI and enriched with advanced functionality, the technology has emerged as a must-have for many leading teams.

In October 2022, Salesforce introduced the new version of Tableau 2022.3, with updated capabilities intended to help companies make better decisions with data.

The new upgrades include everything from Data Guide to help brands uncover insights quickly to dynamic dashboards for personalized business insights.

What Is New on Tableau?

Among the changes to the most recent version of Tableau 2022 are a variety of UX and interface updates, ideal for companies already invested in the Salesforce landscape. Some of the most notable new features include:

  • A Data Guide: Companies and business leaders can quickly derive insights from their data with a new guided experience. The Guide includes numerous functionalities, such as a “Data Change Radar” to automatically surface unusual changes and “Explain the Viz” to identify data collection outliers and explain their causes.
  • Table Extensions: Users can now quickly bring scripting and predictions into Tableau’s data model using Table Extensions. The new feature allows users to unlock new data, score augment, and transform their information using Analytics extensions like Einstein Discovery, R, and Python. This allows for more rapid business insights.
  • Dynamic Zone Visibility: Tableau’s dynamic zone visibility feature allows users to programmatically show and hide different dashboard zones, creating custom experiences without the need for workarounds. Within a couple of steps, users can set up interactive dashboards which evolve based on user actions and inputs.
  • Advanced Management: New Advanced Management tools for Tableau Server allows users to schedule scaling for backgrounders. This means teams can add and remove backgrounders based on their needs, adding new functionality to improve speed or removing them to help cut down on business running costs.
  • An Activity Log: The Activity Log included in the Advanced Management tools for Tableau Server can help users better understand how individuals use the server. The log surfaces structured and documented data through log files, with granular insights into each user. There are also options to turn data into visualized reports.

A New Generation of Tableau

The existing users and customers inspired the new features of Tableau in the Salesforce ecosystem. The company draws insights regularly from its “Idea forum”, where people can submit their suggestions for how to enhance the user experience.

Users can upgrade to the Tableau 2022.3 experience to take advantage of all the features mentioned above, alongside all of the existing functionality Tableau has to offer.
