HR Conversational AI startup Leena AI has announced its latest Series B round of funding. 

Leena AI offers a platform for resolving employee queries autonomously via machine learning, conversational AI and natural language understanding. It’s intended to take the burden off of HR staff in areas such as policy questions, knowledge management and employee documentation. 

The company’s latest $30mn Series B round brought total funds raised to $40mn. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, alongside Greycroft and B Capital Group.

The company said it would use the funds to accelerate product innovation, with an expansion into products for IT, sales and finance teams scheduled for early 2022.

The Leena AI team has been able to bring HR into the modern era through automation and machine learning, enabling better employee engagement,” said Mark Terbeek, Partner at Greycroft. “We believe Leena AI is well-positioned to revolutionise the enterprise employees experience in the era of hybrid work.” 

Its customers include the likes of Coca-Cola, Nestle, Abbott, Puma, and P&G, with the company saying more than 3 million employees across 60 countries were now using its product.
