Genesys has unveiled a new set of AI orchestration capabilities at Xperience 2026, including an AI Control Plane, upgrades to its Agentic Virtual Agent, and persistent customer-context tooling.

The vendor is pitching itself as the layer that can coordinate AI agents, human employees, customer data, and enterprise workflows across the full service journey.

At the center of the launch are four new Genesys Cloud components:

  • AI Control Plane
  • Navigator
  • Orchestrator
  • Contextual Intelligence

In discussing the fresh features, Mike Szilagyi, Senior Vice President and Head of Product at Genesys, said:

“The future of CX is AI that understands intent, preserves memory across resources and moves the interaction forward until the customer’s problem is solved.

“With Genesys Cloud, organizations can turn AI from a collection of tools into an intelligent system that delivers better customer results at enterprise scale.”

Genesys Cloud Navigator and Orchestrator Take Shape

The two most notable releases are Genesys Cloud Navigator and Genesys Cloud Orchestrator.

Navigator is designed as an AI-native front door for customer experience. Instead of forcing customers through static IVR menus, routing logic, or disconnected digital journeys, it uses conversational understanding, customer history, interaction signals, and enterprise context to determine what the customer is trying to achieve.

It can then decide whether the next step should involve an AI agent, automated workflow, or human employee.

Genesys Cloud Navigator is expected to reach general availability between November 1, 2026, and January 31, 2027.

Genesys Cloud Orchestrator is positioned as the next layer up. It is designed to maintain the state of the customer journey and coordinate the next-best action across AI agents, employees, and enterprise systems.

The aim is to stop customers from repeating themselves as their case moves between channels, bots, agents, and back-office workflows.

Genesys expects Orchestrator to become generally available between February 1 and April 30, 2027.

The company has, of course, been talking about experience orchestration for years. But Navigator and Orchestrator give that strategy a much clearer product shape.

The features also move Genesys closer to the sort of AI-led decisioning layer that major CRM, CCaaS, and service-management vendors are all now chasing.

AI Control Plane and Contextual Intelligence Are Available Now

While customers must wait for Navigator and Orchestrator, the other two components are already available.

Contextual Intelligence creates what Genesys describes as persistent enterprise memory, linking live interaction signals with customer identity, history, business events, and wider journey context.

The AI Control Plane provides the governance layer. It gives organizations centralized discovery, identity, policy, and observability controls, helping them define where AI agents can act, what information they can access, and when human oversight is required.

As enterprises add AI agents from Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft, OpenAI, and a growing list of specialist providers, they risk creating the same fragmented experiences that cloud platforms originally promised to eliminate.

One bot may know why a customer is calling, while another has the billing history, and a third controls the workflow needed to solve the issue.

Genesys is trying to become the connective tissue that binds all of these areas together.

Glenn Nethercutt, Chief Technology Officer at Genesys, said:

“With our growing partner ecosystem, Genesys Cloud provides a trusted platform for agentic orchestration, giving organizations the context and control to shape how AI and people work together to deliver customer experiences at global scale.”

Agentic Virtual Agent Gets More Enterprise Muscle

Alongside the orchestration launches, Genesys has enhanced its Cloud Agentic Virtual Agent offering.

The platform now includes Scaled Cognition’s APT-2 large action model, which Genesys says improves reasoning accuracy, factual grounding, execution reliability, workflow length, response time, and multilingual performance.

Genesys has also released new development tools and a Deepgram integration for real-time speech recognition. The vendor claims that its spec-driven development approach can use process documentation and transcripts to turn customer outcomes into deployable virtual-agent configurations.

Developers can also use external tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, and Kiro to build those specifications.

Further upgrades are still to come. An ElevenLabs integration for more expressive AI voices is expected by the end of October. Native voice capabilities, including End-of-Turn Detection and Contextual Tuning, are expected during the following quarter, alongside A2A interoperability and AI-assisted authoring.

That A2A interoperability is another key part of the story. Genesys says its virtual agents will be able to work with specialist AI agents across platforms such as Salesforce and ServiceNow, coordinating work across multi-step business processes.

The impact of these releases will largely depend on whether enterprises will accept Genesys as the coordination layer sitting between these platforms.

The vendor has the contact center heritage, large cloud customer base, and increasingly broad AI portfolio to make the case. Yet it is entering a crowded market, where Salesforce, ServiceNow, NICE, Five9, Microsoft, and others are all laying claim to the enterprise AI control point.

For now, Genesys has delivered a clear product roadmap. The next test is whether Navigator, Orchestrator, and the wider agentic virtual-agent stack can turn that roadmap into measurable customer-service outcomes.
