RingCentral has renewed its ability to market and sell RingCentral Contact Center, powered by NiCE CXone, for another year.

In addition, NiCE will resell RingCentral’s RingEX UCaaS platform under a new multi-year agreement.

As enterprises increasingly demand employee communications and customer experience technologies that work more closely together, this could be a significant move for both vendors.

Blair Pleasant, President and Principal Analyst at COMMfusion, summed up that demand in a LinkedIn post, where she wrote:

“Finally!!! NiCE knows that some customers want a fully-integrated #UCaaS + #CCaaS or #CX solution, and it’s a checklist item on some RFPs.”

Indeed, NiCE has long been one of the dominant enterprise CCaaS players but has lacked a fully-fledged UCaaS offering alongside CXone. RingCentral, meanwhile, has sought to expand its relevance in larger enterprise CX deployments.

The expanded deal gives both companies a more compelling answer for buyers looking to procure the two together.

NiCE and RingCentral Make Their Partnership Bi-Directional

NiCE will now market and sell RingEX to its customer base, while RingCentral continues to offer NiCE CXone through RingCentral Contact Center.

In the official release, the vendors said the relationship is now “fully bi-directional,” with RingCentral bringing CXone to its customers and NiCE offering RingEX to organizations seeking “a single, tightly integrated customer experience (CX) and employee communications solution.”

UCaaS and CCaaS have been sold together for years, but many enterprise buyers still contend with a patchwork of vendors, administration tools, analytics environments, and support models.

NiCE and RingCentral are positioning their partnership as a more coherent alternative.

In discussing the news, Vlad Shmunis, Founder, Chairman and CEO of RingCentral, said:

“NiCE has been a trusted partner for more than a decade, and this expansion takes our relationship to a new level.

“With NiCE now offering our UCaaS solution alongside the continued success of RingCentral Contact Center powered by CXone, we’re now giving businesses of all sizes a proven, integrated path to modernize how they connect, collaborate, and serve their customers.”

The enterprise opportunity was also made clear during RingCentral’s Q2 2026 earnings call.

Asked whether the expanded agreement opened NiCE’s enterprise install base to RingEX, Shmunis said: “That’s exactly the idea.”

He later added:

“This is just a great testament to the fact that they’re now also seeing that UCaaS and CCaaS are stronger together, not just in the mid-market, but also in the enterprise.”

NiCE’s customer base gives RingCentral a clearer route into large organizations with more complex contact center requirements.

Why the CX Integration Could Matter

The announcement goes beyond a shared resale arrangement.

NiCE and RingCentral said their UCaaS and CCaaS platform will connect frontline contact center agents with back-office experts through real-time presence.

Agents can bring a subject-matter expert into a live customer interaction in a single click. That could remove a familiar source of friction. When contact center agents cannot quickly access billing teams, engineers, claims handlers, or other specialists, customers are often transferred, promised a callback, or forced to repeat their issue.

Scott Russell, CEO of NiCE, said:

“By expanding our partnership with RingCentral, we’re bringing together two recognized industry leaders so organizations gain the full strength of both: elite employee communications and an enterprise-grade CX platform, deeply integrated and ready to scale with AI.”

The vendors are also pitching a model that combines NiCE CX AI, powered by NiCE Cognigy, with connected customer and employee workflows.

Forrester has argued that companies looking to make AI work in customer service must simplify technology stacks, consolidate vendor relationships, and rethink outdated processes.

A tighter UCaaS and CCaaS proposition could help, but only if the integration is meaningful beyond sales presentations.

Where Does RingCX Fit?

The question is how RingCentral will position RingCX alongside RingCentral Contact Center powered by NiCE CXone.

During the earnings call, Piper Sandler Analyst at James Fish asked where RingCX “stops” and NiCE CXone “starts.”

Shmunis did not draw a hard dividing line, he said:

“Without drawing a bright line, because there is no bright line, CX is generally more of a mid-market product so far.”

He suggested that CXone is better suited to organizations requiring deep customization, sophisticated routing, and advanced analytics. RingCX may appeal to those seeking a faster, less expensive deployment with fewer professional services.

Shmunis explained:

“If you need deep custom routing, if you need very deep human-facing analytics, CXone is an industry leader, there is a reason for that. If you need quicker, faster, less expensive deployment, a lot less professional service, a little bit sort of newer product, a little bit field wide maybe, then RingCX would be the one to go with.”

That creates a broader portfolio for RingCentral, but also a messaging challenge. Buyers will want to know which product fits their requirements, whether they can scale between them, and if RingEX integrations will be equally deep across both.

The Biggest Test Is Still to Come

The commercial logic behind the announcement is apparent. NiCE gains a stronger UCaaS proposition for CXone customers, while RingCentral gains a potentially meaningful enterprise channel for RingEX and retains CXone as an enterprise-grade CCaaS option.

But the deal will be judged on execution.

Pleasant recognized the work RingCentral has already done around CXone, while identifying the question NiCE must answer:

“RingCentral has done a good job of integrating NiCE CXone into its UCaaS offerings, and now we’ll have to see how truly integrated the solution will be on NiCE’s end.”

The agreement gives both vendors a stronger story for RFPs that demand joined-up UCaaS and CCaaS. Yet enterprise customers will look beyond the reseller model. They will want proof of integrated workflows, consistent administration, reliable data sharing, clear implementation ownership, and easy access to experts across the organization.

NiCE and RingCentral have put the commercial foundations in place. Now, they must show that their combined CX stack works as tightly as they say it does.
