Hosted voice and UC provider Broadvoice has announced the acquisition of Aveiro, Portugal-based contact centre as a service (CCaaS) platform GoContact.

GoContact provides a range of contact centre solutions, including a proprietary cloud-native voice platform and cloud platform as a service (CPaaS) offerings.

“This transaction delivers immediate synergies for both companies,” said Broadvoice CEO Jim Murphy. “GoContact has an extraordinary growth story thanks to its powerful cloud-native platform, market position in the fast-growing business process outsourcing (BPO) vertical, and extraordinary team of professionals on the ground in three continents. The complementary technologies, expertise and geographic reach of our combined resources will accelerate the growth of our newly combined company.”

The UC and CC Merger Trend

Broadvoice said the acquisition was motivated by synergies in the two companies offerings, a trend we’ve seen repeated in a number of tie-ups of unified communications and contact centre firms – not least Zoom and Five9.

“Broadvoice checked every box as GoContact’s growth partner— from our shared customer-first approach to investment in top-tier talent and technology,” said GoContact CEO Rui Marques. “We look forward to working with our new Broadvoice team to empower our business customers with the ability to cut costs, increase collaboration and deliver superior customer experiences.”

The two companies said the merged organisation would enable:

  • A market footprint in North America, Europe, Africa and South America enabling cross sales to existing and new customers in each company’s market
  • Further integration of each other’s products into customer offerings
  • embedded CRM, collaboration and helpdesk software-as-a-service platforms

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, with the combined company maintaining the established brands in their respective regions – Broadvoice for North America and GoContact in EMEA and Latin America. Broadvoice’s leadership will remain unchanged, with GoContact CEO Rui Marques staying in his role and GoContact CTO João Camarate serving as joint CTO.
