RingCentral has made new phone integrations for Microsoft Teams to give customers access to business SMS, fax, voicemail, Call-to-Web, and direct routing.

The company says customers will now have the option to choose either a direct routing solution or the RingCentral dialer integration for MS Teams, which provides access to SMS, fax, and voicemail.

Jaya Kumar, Global Chief Marketing Officer at RingCentral, said, “RingCentral’s mission is to give customers the very best business communications capabilities in a secure, trusted, and reliable way, and we’re delighted to extend RingCentral’s capabilities to organizations using Microsoft Teams. “

“Teams need to be able to collaborate whether it is scheduled, spontaneous or ongoing. Teams also need to connect from any device and across modalities. It is about being able to connect when, where and how you want. We call it – Your Work. Your Way.”

The new telephony capabilities will let Microsoft Teams customers utilise the comprehensive RingCentral cloud PBX functionality and integrate the RingCentral app to embed calling, SMS, fax, call-to-web, and voicemail within Microsoft Teams.

General availability for call-to-web and voicemail is expected in Q4 2021, while fax and SMS (US only) will be generally available in Q1 2022.

RingCentral will also strengthen direct routing service for Microsoft Teams and simplify the process of deployment.

To leverage RingCentral calling capabilities in Microsoft Teams, customers can either use an embedded dialer integration between the desktop or web app and Microsoft Teams or a direct routing solution to make calling native in MS Teams.

The vendor claims one of their customers has been very much looking forward to the new improvements as they will provide them “with even greater calling experiences, increased compliance, more flexibility, and unparalleled security and reliability.”

In October, RingCentral added a number of different capabilities to its MVP (Message Video Phone) platform to help teams working in a hybrid environment.
