What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?

Seeing the company continue to grow in spite of, or perhaps because of, the tough economic conditions.

Who is your business hero and why?

A Silicon Valley hero is Andy Grove, third employee and former Chair and CEO of Intel. Drove incredible growth and was generous in sharing his knowledge. His book ‘High Output Management’ is a brilliant CEO handbook.

What’s the biggest business mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?

In the early days, doing a bad deal. Don’t do a bad deal.

What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?

There isn’t just one. ‘The Innovator’s Dilemma’ by Clayton Christensen is a bit heavy-going in places but it gives some secrets for a long life if you’re a tech company.

What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?

Like most organisations, the tough global economic conditions.

What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?

Old customer-premise technology. Organisations are stuck in the ‘sunk-cost fallacy’ and that slows us down helping them to innovate.
