What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?

Travelling to more conferences. As well as all the new things you learn, there’s a commercial benefit; new clients aren’t found under the coffee table, and having the opportunity to meet them in a sales-free friendly setting makes an enormous difference to our business.

Who is your business hero and why?

Anne Boden, CEO of Starling Bank. Over her career has consistently demonstrated a foresight for the shifting focus of the financial services industry that equals other people’s hindsight.

What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. For me, it coalesced a conviction I’ve had my entire life that the universe conspires to assist you in your goals if you are able to listen to it and grab the opportunities it offers you.

What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?

Organisations putting their faith into system integrators instead of a small number of specialist organisations who work well together.

What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?

Claude.ai – I use it instead of Google much of the time now to help inform me and seek solutions to problems.
