Globant, a UK-based multinational IT services company, announced today that it has acquired Sysdata, an Italian business and technology consultancy, in a move to accelerate the transition to digital in Europe.

The CX consultancy has more than 25,000 employees in 20 countries and has a roster of clients spanning Google, Electronic Arts, and Disney, among others. It was also named a Worldwide Leader in CX Improvement Services by the IDC MarketScape report.

Founded in Bologna, Italy, Sysdata provides advisory services and end-to-end digital transformation projects to blue-chip companies like Allianz, Boston Consulting Group, and Maserati.

“Sysdata joins Globant to consolidate our expansion in Europe,” said Martin Umaran, Co-Founder of Globant and President of EMEA. “We were impressed by their long-standing portfolio of customers in some of Italy’s more significant industries, such as Banking, Insurance, and Automotive. Globant will complement these and other offerings to keep on supporting successful digital transformations.”

Globant executives further added that the company will leverage Sysdata’s strong culture of innovation, quality and agility, to continue expanding Globant´s footprint in Europe.

“Together, we will be able to continue offering a top-notch portfolio of services and products to keep reinventing businesses,” said Martín Migoya, Co-Founder and CEO of Globant.

The move follows Five9’s opening of two new data centers in Frankfurt and Amsterdam to support its international growth targets and meet the desire for European companies to guarantee data residency.

But Globant and Five9 are not the only companies eyeing expansion as a way to achieve growth: in August, Avaya announced a partnership in Hong Kong to help it expand across APAC, on the back of a major revenue slump and a leadership reshuffle.
