Student engagement CRM for higher education institutions Element451 has announced a raft of enhancement to its AI capabilities.

The company offers a solution for competing on admissions across recruitment and enrolment via AI, behavioural data and automation. That helps reach prospective students via their preferred channels to boost engagement.

The updates to its Bolt AI capabilities bring automation to other parts of the student journey, with smart audience segmentation, engagement recommendations, real-time student engagement scores and automated marketing interaction delivery across channels such as email and text.

The company framed the update as a response to decreasing numbers of college-ready students caused by the current environment of shifting demographics and increased competition.

“Our clients are seeing a dramatic shift across the student journey. In order to keep pace, administrators are increasingly reliant on data science to better understand the needs of students and to create the best possible experience from the first interaction through to graduation,” said Todd Heilman, Chief Success Officer, Element451

“Many colleges are combining traditional enrolment management functions with traditional student affairs functions to drive a greater impact across key performance metrics.”

The solution is also able to interpret student data for the purposes of strategic enrolment and budget planning.

Back in July, the company announced a doubling in its higher education customer base over the last academic year, which it said showed the appetite for smarter approaches to recruiting in the higher education space.

“Most admissions departments lack a dedicated marketing team and rely on cookie-cutter communications that net historically low student engagement rates,” said Ardis Kadiu, CEO of Element451, at the time.

“If bottom-line success is going to be measured in applicant yield, enrollment melt, and, ultimately, tuition dollars, the ability to leverage AI to predict student behavior and quickly automate a personalized journey for every student becomes a crucial competitive differentiator.”
