Global leader in customer and employee experience and engagement Medallia has announced it has acquired Decibel.

The news came upon reporting earnings for the fourth quarter and full year 2021.

Leslie Stretch, President and CEO of Medallia, said: “During Q4, we achieved important milestones with quarterly subscription revenue exceeding $100 million and total annual revenue run rate exceeding the $500 million mark.

“We are out-innovating competitors and continue to invest in global sales coverage and product development. Markets are being disrupted by exponential forces putting customers and employees at the centre of digital transformation. Medallia is the only platform that makes all other applications customer and employee aware, transforming value for partners, customers, citizens, patients and employees.”

As consumer behaviours continue to shift, this deal will enable data to reveal true understanding of the omni-channel experience of customers as well as employees, who drive the customer experience.

Medallia’s platform will seamlessly include always-on, unsolicited digital feedback, providing a single view of all customers and prospective customers at every point of their journey across all channels, the company confirmed.

The acquisition announcement comes as Medallia saw revenue for the fourth quarter of 2021 boost 16% to $128 million, and total revenue for 2021 increased 19% to $477.2 million.

The strong results were driven by even stronger numbers on the subscription front, as Medallia achieved important milestones with quarterly subscription revenue exceeding $100 million and total annual revenue run rate exceeding the $500 million mark.
