Gift card and loyalty solutions provider Factor4 has partnered with integration platform SavorConnect to offer gift cards on Shopify’s ecommerce offering. 

Factor4 offers a proprietary platform, technology and integrations in the loyalty space, with its RewardOS API integrating with point-of-sale devices. SavorConnect, meanwhile, is a platform from IT and cloud integration company WineryConnect. 

“Few firms offer true omnichannel gift cards; even fewer also give merchants a choice of payment processors,” said Dan Battista, Factor4’s CEO. “We believe this is the first omnichannel gift card on Shopify that allows merchants to choose their payment partner. Factor4 integrates with over 100 payment processors.” 

The omni-channel gift cards resulting from the partnership are usable in-store, online and via mobile devices. 

Ben Weiner, CEO at WineryConnect, the developer of the SavorConnect platform, said: “These OmniGift cards offer fully customised branding; and can be redeemed at potentially unlimited numbers of physical and virtual locations. This maximises flexibility for merchants and their customers, opening up major new revenue streams.” 

Factor4 said it was responding to a boom in the online sale of gift cards caused by COVID-19. It cited data from NAPCO Research showing an 80% increase in digital gift card sales from 2019 to 2020, with consumers favouring cards that are redeemable in the channel and location of their choice. 

“Shopify apps require cutting-edge integration at scale,” said Sam Weiner, WineryConnect’s CTO. “Our years-long investment in multi-tenant cloud-based integration lets us offer this service cost-effectively. We are excited to partner with Factor4 OmniGift sales on Shopify.” 

Shopify recently invested in ecommerce marketing platform Yotpo, with the latter company serving as an early launch partner for new Shopify development features.
