More News from Oracle

Back in April, Oracle introduced new AI features to its Fusion Cloud Customer Experience suite, which includes applications for service, sales, marketing, commerce, advertising, finance, HR, and supply chain.

Following the major generative AI (GenAI) update in September 2023, Oracle has now integrated AI into its service and sales applications.

In Oracle Service, the new Gen AI Assisted Answer Generation automatically produces relevant responses to customer inquiries using Oracle Digital Assistant, while allowing service agents to review and adjust these responses. This helps agents handle simple queries faster and focus on more complex issues.

Additionally, Oracle Service now includes Assisted Scheduling for Field Service, an AI-driven feature that optimizes scheduling for field technicians by considering factors like availability, location, skills, and travel time.

Elsewhere, in March Oracle reported a cloud revenue of $5.1 billion for Q3 2024, marking a 24% increase, and making cloud its top revenue source.

This is the first time that cloud revenue has surpassed total license support revenue in Oracle’s history.

Following the announcement, Oracle’s stock jumped 13% to a record $129, with year-to-date gains reaching 24%.

This contrasts with Q2 2024, when shares fell due to unmet revenue expectations despite growing sales and demand for Oracle Cloud infrastructure.

CEO Safra Catz highlighted that Oracle’s cloud applications, autonomous databases, and OCI have significantly boosted revenue, indicating the company has “crossed over.”
