One of the largest duty-free retailers in the world, King Power, chose 8×8 to enhance its e-commerce operations through improved customer experiences and employee communications, as well as to take advantage of its scalable and ‘cost-effective’ support.
8×8’s SMS API enables companies to reach customers anywhere and anytime with automatic notifications, reminders, alerts, and one-time passwords.
Boonthavee Jarudomrongsak, VP of Digital Delivery Management at King Power Corporation, commented on the results of its integration of 8×8: “King Power Corporation currently sends SMS messages to over 850,000 customers annually.
“With 8×8, we are able to provide our customers with an elevated e-commerce experience they want and have come to expect from King Power Corporation, both on our website and the app.”
8×8 SMS API
The 8×8 SMS API has reportedly led to improvements in King Power’s delivery rates and e-commerce platform through streamlined order processing, effective SMS notifications, and its customer verification technology.
According to 8×8’s website, SMS messaging is the “most trusted communication source available”. It claims that the communication channel has a 98 percent open-rate, making it the best way to keep customers updated.
8×8 offers SMS solutions via its own SMS gateway that lets you rapidly send and receive messages.
SMS, voice, video, and messaging apps can be found within the 8×8 CPaaS platform to strengthen business communications and customer experiences.
In turn, 8×8 CPaaS falls under its broader ‘XCaaS’ platform offering that includes an integrated cloud contact centre and a unified communications platform.
Other companies to have implemented 8×8 CPaaS are Traveloka, Coda Payments, Click, aCommerce, Tokopedia, and Lazada.
SMS add-ons are also available via 8×8, such as 10 DLC, two-way SMS, number lookup, integrations, URL shorteners, and business hours message delivery.
Further features of the 8×8 SMS solution are direct connections with South East Asia, APAC, EMEA, and the Americas, as well as redundancy assurance, and 24/7 support with local market knowledge.
Stephen Hamill, General Manager, CPaaS at 8×8, Inc., reflected on the benefits that its solutions can bring to customers like King Power: “Customers expect a high level of customer service when interacting with e-commerce providers, which is why it’s so important that we provide companies the communications tools they need to meet these customer expectations.
“At 8×8, we remain committed to delivering cutting-edge communication solutions that empower businesses to achieve their operational objectives efficiently and drive impressive cost-savings initiatives such as King Power Corporation was able to achieve.”
8×8 SMS APIs pricing plans vary depending the company’s size and which pricing model you choose, either ‘enterprise’ or ‘pay-per-use’. Enterprise pricing plans include bulk rate discounts. Its pay-per-use model, on the other hand, has the advantage of only paying for the messages you require. The price will then be calculated based on the message type, destination, and SMS carrier that are used.
