Cupertino, California-based customer relationship management firm SugarCRM has received a Gold Stevie award at the 19th Annual American Business Awards. The business awards programme received a record of over 3,800 nominations for consideration this year, with 250 professionals involved in the judging process.

“The American economy continues to show its resilience, and as we’re poised on the beginning of what should be a phenomenal period of growth, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of a wide range of organizations and people over the past 18 months,” said Stevie Awards President Maggie Gallagher. “This year’s Stevie-winning nominations in The American Business Awards are testament to the ingenuity, the commitment, the passion, the adaptability, and the creativity of the American people.”

SugarCRM’s Sugar Sell solution was duly named “Best New Product” in the Relationship Management Solution Category. The product is intended to provide clearer understanding of customers via a historical record and sales analytics capabilities.

Sugar Sell also integrates automation capabilities to power predictions about customers independent of the amount of data available. Known as SugarPredict, the technology offers improved predictability in regular sales activities while coming integrated and included in its Sugar Sell solution.

“This award reinforces Sugar’s commitment to bringing the power of AI into the hands of our users to help automate low-level activities so sales professionals can instead focus on understanding their customers and creating a better experience for them, helping to cultivate customers for life,” said David Campbell, Vice President of Product Marketing at SugarCRM.

CRM and Sales Impact Report

The company emphasised the ways in which SugarPredict is at the forefront of a new approach to customer relationship management and sales in general, relying on data rather than instinct.

That meshes with the company’s finding sin its 2021 CRM and Sales Impact Report , among the findings of which was the 48% of sales professionals thought their CRM systems were unfit for purpose and costing them revenue – leading to difficulties accessing the data vital to building customer relationships.

“The report findings are a statement about traditional CRMs,” the company said. “It validates our premise that traditional CRMs suffer from a lack of fidelity and require more effort to maintain than the value they return. Through extensive innovation, Sugar has differentiated itself from traditional CRMs. In fact, with SugarPredict empowering Sugar Sell customers with AI, we believe Sugar is a key part of the solution.”
