Medallia has named Ben Brewer as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to help fuel growth at the company.

Brewer takes over from Gabriel Benavides, who in turn has become the CRO at the digital experience platform provider Contentsquare.

Describing itself as the “global leader in customer and employee experience”, Medallia is focussed on expanding its business and it has opted to double down on investments in AI innovations to achieve this.

Joe Tyrrell, CEO at Medallia, was pleased to bring Brewer into the fold: “We are excited to have a proven leader with Ben’s level of experience joining us and helping lead our next phase of growth at Medallia.

“His passion for helping organisations deliver personalised experiences and his ability to foster growth within his teams make him an exceptional fit for our organisation and culture.”

Meet Medallia’s New CRO

Brewer was previously the Chief Sales Officer at Cornerstone OnDemand, a talent experience platform designed to bring out the best of your workforce.

According to Medallia, brewer “excelled” as Cornerstone OnDemand’s CSO, where he implemented growth initiatives by introducing its technology to clients from various regions and industries.

Before Cornerstone OnDemand, Brewer served as President and CRO at Nintex, the end-to-end process intelligence and workflow automation specialist. As the CRO, he managed a team based in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific to meet “aggressive” sales and profitability targets.

The bulk of Brewer’s experience, however, was gained at SAP Concur where he worked from 2006 to 2020. Here, he moved from a regional sales executive through to Vice President of Sales. In his final years at the company, Brewer served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager, leading sales, marketing and client success departments which totalled more than 2,000 employees across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

Like Medallia, SAP is also heavily involved in AI, having even created its own generative AI assistant “Joule” last year.

Ben Brewer, CRO at Medallia, expressed his enthusiasm to join Medallia: “Medallia is the leader in the customer experience space with a reputation for being on the cutting edge of world-class innovation and I can’t think of a more exciting time to join this organisation.

“The new AI innovations that Medallia recently rolled out are going to rapidly increase the level of value that our customers can deliver.

“I am looking forward to leading a diverse and high-performing sales team that delivers value to clients across various industries and geographies.”

It seems that Brewer is already hard at work creating new growth for the company, starting by expanding his team.

He took to LinkedIn yesterday to simultaneously celebrate his new role and advertise new positions for the company: “We’re currently seeking talented sales reps, frontline and midline leaders, and a wide range of other GTM positions.

“With the industry experiencing historic growth, now is the perfect time to join and shape the next chapter of Medallia’s story.”

At the Medallia Experience 2024 conference last month, the company introduced four AI innovations that it believes will “fundamentally change” the way in which businesses customise customer and employee experiences.

Ask Athena, Smart Response, Intelligent Summaries, and Themes utilise responsible, scalable, and cost-effective AI. They will all be added to the Medallia Experience Cloud.
