Sinch has introduced ‘Sinch Calling with Webex’ to provide users with integrated calling and collaboration capabilities within the Webex platform.

The new product partnership combines Sinch’s voice technology with the collaboration functionality of its rival CPaaS provider, Webex, putting competition to one side for the sake of enhanced interoperability.

The all-in-one solution, which also includes advanced messaging and meeting capabilities, means that businesses will not be able to deal with multiple service providers.

Anders Lenman, Vice President of Enterprise Products at Sinch, commented on the partnership: “Unified communication is essential in today’s business landscape, and we’re committed to offering robust solutions.

Our collaboration with Webex is an important step that will provide businesses with a comprehensive, high-quality platform for all their communication needs.

“This integration not only enables companies to streamline their operations but also fosters value, trust, and loyalty with their customer base.”

Sinch’s service has been designed for optimal high-definition voice and video performance to enhance customer engagement and collaboration.

It is touted as the perfect solution for companies that need a high-quality, unified communications platform experience.

Companies using disparate apps for voice, messaging, and meetings often find it challenging to maintain quality and feature sets.

Sinch Calling with Webex takes away these obstacles, however, by giving enterprises a seamless, end-to-end communication and collaboration solution that operates from a single platform.

Powered by the Customer Communications Cloud, Sinch’s calling capabilities enable conversations across messaging, voice, and email with “unmatched scalability, deliverability, and cost-effectiveness”.

Rivals or Partners?

The answer seems to be both. Although these two companies are fighting over customers from the same CPaaS market, they are also believers in the power and importance of interoperability. The idea is that by working together, companies can create superior products, which translates into more customers, as well as happier customers.

Last year, Cisco announced that it would champion interoperability in order to gain a much broader audience.

Cisco’s market-leading video devices now allow users to join a Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet call at the touch of a button. It has released a Mobile Camera Share feature for Apple users, invested in Mio, and even formed a partnership with Microsoft.

Tony Lopresti, Senior Director of Product Management for Webex, spoke about the integration benefits for Sinch users: “Building on our mutual vision to delight the small to medium business customer, Webex is partnering with Sinch to deliver Sinch Calling with Webex.

With fully integrated Webex technology, Sinch users will experience a modern, all-in-one collaboration tool that delivers simple, flexible communications, making their businesses more productive and more secure, with any device from anywhere.

Gartner recently named Sinch as a Leader in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Communication Platforms as a Service (CPaaS). Webex also featured, and Cisco will likely expand the platform further at this week’s Webex ONE event.

Additional partnerships are also likely to arise, with Outreach already announcing an AI-powered integration with the platform.
