Gong has become the latest high-profile customer experience tech provider to release AI agents.
Like those of its market rivals, these agents can reason, adapt, and act to mechanize front-office processes.
However, to understand what makes Gong’s approach different, it’s critical to understand its heritage.
At its core, it’s still the conversational intelligence provider that rose to the fore by presenting tech that tells salespeople what they did well and not so well in sales calls.
Yet, it has expanded into a more comprehensive CX platform that helps organizations pinpoint what’s driving revenue, build more accurate pipelines, and even design growth strategies.
These growth strategies consider the cross-functional customer experience and are deeply informed by the voice of the customer — something traditional CRMs struggle with.
Gong’s AI agents aim to boost these strategies further and help businesses optimize revenue.
In doing so, they are differentiated from much of what’s on the CX market today.
“AI is evolving fast, but much of what’s on the market today is either unrealistic or uninspired,” said Amit Bendov, CEO and Co-Founder of Gong.
AI isn’t about replacing roles—it’s about freeing people up to do their most impactful work.
“Gong Agents are purpose-built for revenue teams, empowering them with automation and intelligence that moves the needle without sacrificing the human connections that drive businesses forward,” Bendov continued.
These purpose-built agents aim to embed into existing business processes, not overhaul them, to – as Bendov suggests – move the needle.
For instance, Gong puts forward models to engage and convert customers, optimize pipelines and forecasts, and supplement agent training.
Indeed, each agent it puts forward leverages its broad conversational intelligence and sales expertise, translating that into business outcomes.
Below are many more examples, all aiming to free up CX staff to drive more revenue.
Quick note: Gong’s agents are customizable via its Agent Studio, so they fit into a business’s workflows and effectively augment human roles.
AI Agents That Capture and Organize Data Automatically
First, consider Gong’s AI Activity Mapper. Upon capturing and organizing data automatically, it links interactions to the right accounts, contacts, and opportunities.
Then, there’s its new AI Transcriber agent that converts those customer conversations into accurate transcripts.
AI Agents That Spread Knowledge Across the Enterprise
Gong’s AI Briefer agent “leverages structured templates” to standardize knowledge on accounts, deals, and contacts. It then helps spread it across the business.
Alongside that is its AI Ask Anything agent, which analyzes conversation data to “instantly answer questions” about deals, accounts, and interactions to provide timely, actionable insights.
AI Agents That Improve Onboarding and Training
The AI Call Reviewer agent assesses a rep’s individual interactions to provide “actionable” coaching and onboarding.
Interestingly, this agent collaborates with another: Gong’s AI Trainer. This takes insight from the AI Call Reviewer to create “realistic” role-play scenarios to “sharpen reps’ skills”.
AI Agents for Engaging and Converting Customers
Gong’s AI Tasker strives to improve customer engagement and conversation. How? By creating to-do lists to prioritize a team’s focus on high-impact activities and suggest the next best actions.
Then, there’s the AI Composer agent that takes guidelines and best practices to draft on-brand business communications that aim to help sellers progress deals.
AI Agents for Optimizing Pipelines and Forecasts
Another of Gong’s new releases is its AI Deal Monitor agent, which detects subtle deal signals. It then proactively suggests actions to keep deals on track and triggers timely interventions.
Next, is the AI Deal Reviewer agent that evaluates deals based on specific sales methodologies it has been trained on.
As such, it can enhance pipeline qualification and drive forecasting accuracy.
The AI Deal Predictor agent is also another excellent example here. It scores prospective deals to assess their health and “predict” a closing date.
The final Gong agent for this sector is the AI Revenue Predictor, which analyzes pipeline signals and trends to deliver confident, data-driven revenue forecasts.
AI Agents for Making Strategic Decisions
The AI Tracker agent automatically tracks “key” moments across conversations to give greater visibility into rep and customer behaviors.
Finally, Gong’s AI Theme Spotter uncovers recurring voice of the customer (VoC) themes – like common pain points, business goals, and objections – to further boost sales intelligence.
These AI Agents Aim to Help Businesses Bolster Revenue
Gong continues to expand beyond their core of recording calls, extracting intelligence, and sharing actionable insights.
It’s evolving into a comprehensive insights-driven platform, helping organizations pinpoint what’s driving revenue and create strategies to act on such insight.
With this release, it’s augmenting people to empower them to grow revenues even further. It’s not looking to replace people.
That concept strikes a chord with brands like Vercara, the prominent security services provider.
“Gong Agents give our sales teams back their most valuable asset — time,” said Stephanie Richman, VP of Sales Operations at Vercara.
By eliminating manual tasks, our managers have reclaimed over 190 hours yearly for strategic coaching and deal support.
“With Gong’s Revenue AI, our teams get a 360 view of every opportunity and AI-driven insights to forecast with confidence, sell smarter, and drive better outcomes across the business.”
