Conversational AI startup specialised in job recruitment Sense has raised $50 million in a Series D funding round, bringing the total amount of funds invested to $90 million.

The startup says the funds will be used to strengthen its services and enter new industries including healthcare, logistics, and retail.

This funding round comes six months after a $16 million Series C round.

Sense CEO Anil Dharni said:

“Sense’s founding mission to equip companies to engage with best-fit talent both quickly and effectively is more important than ever. Our work with hundreds of companies in the past year alone has enabled them to build great teams and compete for talent amid the pandemic.”

“Our latest funding is not only validation of the need for personalized talent engagement in today’s candidate-centric world but is also an accelerant for our platform globally as we help reshape the future of work.”

Sense provides a platform to find, screen, and recruit potential hires through customisable chatbots.

The startup claims over 600 clients are using their platform to interact with potential hires and find out if they are a suitable fit.

By using customisable chatbots, companies can learn more about interests, training, and background of potential hires through simple questions. The chatbot uses NLP to fit people into different categories according to their answers.

Dharni added: “Today’s market continues to put exponential pressures on hiring teams. With resignation rates increasing, a record number of job openings, and candidates in the driver’s seat, organizations are in dire need for new ways to speed, scale, and personalize the hiring process.”

“And that’s exactly what we’re on a mission to do – help organizations achieve success in hiring fast, at scale, without sacrificing a personalized experience.”

Sense claims their customers have seen a staggering jump in the number of candidates they can vet on average (263%) since employing the Sense platform.
