Experience management firm Explorance has introduce a new tool leveraging machine learning for employee experience.

BlueML analyses text comments from employees to help business leaders make sense of unstructured data gathered from employee surveys and other feedback sources which have bloomed in the face of COVID-19. According to the Metrigy Workplace Collaboration: 2021-22 study, 67.9% of organisations are either using or planning to use applications combining videoconferencing and team messaging functionality.

Explorance said its solution differed from other comment analysis tools owing to its training on real employee comments, as opposed to generic text-based data. That training data includes HR-specific content across a range of industries and organisations, with feedback on the topics of culture, onboarding, engagement and exit surveys.

By automatically scanning and categorising comments, the BlueML dashboard can provide both sentiment analysis and recommendations to drive action. Real-time visibility on data sources and inputs, meanwhile, help HR leaders to identify trends in the data.

“Talent is one of the biggest issues businesses are facing this year, presenting three critical challenges: recruitment, retention, and inclusion. Businesses are collecting more employee feedback than ever before, yet they lack the tools to easily and accurately analyse and interpret this feedback,” said Samer Saab, Founder and CEO of Explorance. “BlueML enables business leaders to not only listen to their employees’ feedback, but to take timely and meaningful action in response.”

The solution also allows companies to analyse data from unsolicited feedback source such as social media, with BlueML’s models learning and improving as they are used.

The BlueML tool is part of Explorance’s broader suite of employee experience management solutions included in the company’s recently updated Blue 8.0 XM platform – an update which added a redesigned survey experience and improved question personalisation features.

“The release has been in development for over a year and comprises a number of significant changes to how Blue functions, which we believe will significantly bring down the barriers to engagement and ensure better completion rates in evaluations and surveys,” said Nitin Sharma, Director of Product Management.
