Sunnyvale, California-based provider of cloud communications and collaboration solutions Intermedia Cloud Communications has announced the release of a new API platform which allows customers to integrate its solutions into business applications. 

The Intermedia Extend API platform brings Intermedia’s voice, video conferencing, contact centre, and analytics services into CRM, ERP and ticketing systems, centralising resources for workflow automation, employee productivity and customer experience in one location. 

“To drive operational efficiency and deliver exceptional customer experiences, business owners must have easy and instant access to the information they need without having to remember what content resides where or within what application,” said Michael Gold, CEO of Intermedia.  

The platform allows uses to embed click-to-call options within the CRM, as well as access meeting details form within calendar platforms. Also possible is the creation of screen pop ups with past caller issues to provide agents with context before a call starts. 

The new offering builds on last year’s launch of Intermedia Unite Extend, which brought integrations of the company’s Unite solution to business applications such as Salesforce, Zoho, Zendesk, and NetSuite. Intermedia Extend API offers more customised integration of communications and collaboration services within popular enterprise software.

Intermedia offers a development portal for tools and resources required to integrate its features into enterprise applications, with the list of APIs including: 

  • Voice APIs for integrating cloud calling technology 
  • Meeting APIs for adding  video and audio conferencing to web and mobile apps 
  • Contact Center APIs for integrating customer experience capabilities 
  • Analytics APIs for reports on voice and video quality performance 
  • Address Book APIs for providing access to company contacts
